Kitchen Table Centerpiece ideas...

I'm currently re-decorating a home for the {D} family. I'm trying to come up with a unique idea for the kitchen table centerpiece. If I had it my way and didn't live in the frozen dessert of Utah for 6 months out of the year, I'd choose fresh flowers replaced weekly....

I tend to agree with Oprah when she said, "never have fake flowers in your home".. unfortunately my bank account isn't on par with Oprah's and so Fresh Peonies will only happen in June and July when I can cut them out of the garden or pick them up at Costco.... I've also got to think of kids setting the table for mom at dinner. In this family I know the kids will be taking the centerpiece off and on, so it can't be too fragile or heavy... I've narrowed it down to a few ideas..
I really want to stear clear of the bowl with balls idea... I don't think it looks bad necessarily, just not the "unique" factor I was going for.

Love the antler centerpiece just not sure I'd love it past winter time..

I think I'm going to do something with fresh rosemary, thyme and basil... Stay tuned to see what I come up with.
